In last article we had discussed the reasons lead to men’s baldness, now we will see the treatment to baldness.Benefited to new technology and advance there is a lot of hope in both treating and preventing different types of baldness. Researchers can even grow hair follicles in lab, also some cancer treatment are used to make hair grow instead of falling out. But there is still a long way to go before these new treatments are applied widely.
So what are the current treatments available for baldness?
From the site of medical, pharmaceutical, surgical will be applied to baldness. Topical minoxidil (Rogaine) and finasteride (Propecia) are the only drugs approved by the FDA to treat pattern baldness. Minoxidil and oral finasterides are also approved to be effective. Botulinum toxin type A (BTA) may show promise to be effective in treating AGA too.
But remember the most reliable and effective treatment are provided by doctors, so make sure talk to your doctor to see if they are right for you.Other treatments for hair loss
There are some common solutions for balding which deal directly with cosmetically or physically altering your appearance.
Hair Transplants.
This process is surgical and should be operated in specialized hospital. It can take many procedures before hair system become permanent, during the time the hair loss may still occur and most of the time you may not expect to solve this by one surgery. The recovery time can be extensive and long also vary for different person. This is also expensive but the result can be don quickly.
Wigs/Toupee.
It has been a long history for human to wear wigs, 4000 years ago ancient Egypt start to wear wigs. Till mid century wigs are popular in nobility, thanks to the King Louis XIII wigs become the way for people to deal with baldness. After hundreds years of development wigs for men are more classified and we named wigs for men toupee to show the different to wigs for women.
Wigs and toupees are less expensive and versatile, they can be made of synthetic fiber or human hair, now we seldom apply with animal hair anymore. Synthetic are generally cheaper when compared to human hair wigs. Human hair wigs look more natural and are easier to style and maintain because polymers hold the structure longer and better under natural fibers.
Statistics show that about 200 million people in China suffer from alopecia, including 130 million men. Wigs are not only an artifact of "baldness", but also a new fashion trend, which has become a necessary part of people's life.
Hats.
Many men tend to wear hats as the most comfortable, versatile and least expensive way to manage their hair loss with zero side effects.
Research is still underway about prevention and treatment, so there’s hope for the future. But until then we still recommend shifting your focus to working with the resources you’ve got. Instead of wasting your money on products that claim to but don’t work, focus your efforts on finding a new style that suits you — with less hair. The best strategy is to embrace your hair loss.
